Untitled (Female Body Study 01), 2016. 10 C-type Matte Prints mounted to 3mm foamex (330mm x 254mm)

This body of work is about female empowerment and body positivity through nudity; a celebration of the female form for females. Throughout the history of art the female nude has been depicted for male pleasure; objectified as a passive sexual stimulus. Women were to be looked at.

In these images the women reveal as much or as little of their own bodies as they want to. The camera closes in onto parts of the body to highlight the individuality of form through looking at what makes female bodies different.

These intimate portraits captured in a bedroom setting aim to promote body confidence for women of different shapes and size. The message is to celebrate yourself in your most natural form.
